The company was established in 1987 by Lulu O'Sullivan originally under the name of Inter Teddy and later evolved into GiftsDirect.com.

As GiftsDirect.com heads towards its 22nd anniversary, the company that began life as a small online gift service has expanded its business profile and now includes major brands such as Tipperary Crystal, Newbridge Silverware, Rachel Allen, Nicholas Mosse and Belleek Living to name but a few.
