This flight is an amazing opportunity to find out what is really involved in flying a large jet with time for some of the more rigorous flying challenges. The session starts with a 15 min pre flight briefing covering some flight basics and the instrument layout in the cockpit.

After your first take off (well done Captain!) we start with some practice in handling the aircraft, such as turning, climbing and descending. We complete 30 mins training circuits including 3 take offs and landings at Shannon Airport

Now you have the feel of the aircraft, it's time for a short line flight from Dublin to Shannon.

We use real world check lists and procedures to complete the flight, and along the way we explain the navigation and auto pilot systems. As we get closer to destination the workload is increasing and you might feel the pressure! Using the Instrument Landing System we line up for the runway. You have 180 passengers on board, can you use your skill and judgment to land this 60 ton airliner safely?

Passengers disembarked safely . . . Its time for some fun with challenging landings into tricky airports! A snowy approach over the Alps into Innsbruck in Austria. Experience a zero visibility landing with the help of the autopilot system. Use your skill and judgment to land in crosswind conditions, and then finish with a beach landing into the famous St Maarten

Our B 737 NG flight simulator is constructed using the cockpit section of a real aircraft that was in service for over 30 years, the flight deck features many original Boeing parts such as the control columns and throttle which add to the incredible realism of this unforgettable experience. You can even invite a guest to share the flying or just sit back and watch you fly.

No Experience is Necessary - Instructor guidance throughout No age restrictions, we have customers from 8 yrs old to 94 years old so far.

Learn about Shannon Airport’s unique history and contribution to global aviation. See the Timeless Voices of Irish Aviation, an video history of some of the characters who developed and pioneered Irish Aviation. Exhibits include a BAC 1-11 cockpit and fuselage section. Also on view is a BAe 146 flight simulator project in work, as well as various aircraft components such as Phantom F4 rudder reverse thrust unit. See and learn about jet engines, on display Rolls Royce Avon and Conway engines. Step back in time to view historical Celestial Navigation instruments used in 1940’s, and a great collection of Aviation memorabilia and artefacts. Then relax with a coffee in Constellation Cafe, complete with real aircraft seats, overlooking the Museum. Our specialist Flight Simulator Centre even provides simulated flying lessons using dual training simulators for young people and children, so all the Family can come along and enjoy the experience!
