Come with us on a Glide adventure around the Dublin Docklands.
The Adventure Route:
We start our adventure at Dublin's magnificent Customs House, which stretches for 114 meters along the quay. Then we move on to Dublin's IFSC where you will see how 'The Celtic Tiger' shaped modern Dublin.
Then we move on to George's Dock where you will hear stories of the Crimean War Banquet and King George IV's visit to Dublin.
As we move further along on our adventure we will explain how this area of Dublin was once under water and reclaimed from the sea to become what is a very modern Dublin.
As we Glide along the riverside with the sea breeze in our faces, we will see some of the old and new architecture of the area and we will explain some of the hidden stories behind them.
We will then Glide a short distance away from the riverside into the Grand Canal Dock area. This is where U2 have their Dublin base, so you can keep your eyes peeled because you just might get to see one of the band members or some of their well-known friends!
As we Glide back up the River Liffey we will make a stop at the world famous Windmill Lane recording studios where U2 and other well known Irish and International artists have recorded.
Then back onto the river where you will get to see the replica famine ship The Jeanie Johnson before ending the tour at the Famine Memorial and The World Poverty Stone.
But more importantly this adventure will all take place on one of our Segway's. The tour lasts around 2 hours which includes time allowed for training, stops for questions and the chance to take tons of photographs.
